No, at the moment, we're 8 hours ahead over here (time zone = CET = Central European Time), which is 1 timezone to the right of the UK. Add some fancy DST corrections and there you have it, 6+ hours on eastern coast, 8+ hours on he coast and obviously 7+ hours on somewhere in between those two (where the hell is that border?).
